BACH TO THE PEOPLE

I’ve started performing the music of Johan Sebastian Bach in public and unusual locations because I think that his music, better than anybody else’s, represents what human existence is about.

Bach was perfect in his balance of counterpoint and harmony.

Counterpoint is how individual melodic lines interact horizontally.

Harmony is the vertical context in which they interact.

Let’s say counterpoint is how our individual lives flow, whereas harmony is the world in which they happen.
